Caffeine Chocolate Granola Clusters

Caffeine Chocolate Granola Clusters are the perfect snack for adding to yogurt, smoothies, and ice cream, or eating alone with milk! Enjoy this delicious treat that’s ready in less than a half hour and is super simple to make. This granola is infused with a little extra caffeine to help boost your energy and give you the power you need to make it through the day!

The perfect chocolate granola clusters

Granola is arguably one of the most versatile snacks. You can eat it on top of yogurts, sprinkle it on smoothie bowls, add it to ice cream, or even enjoy it alone with a bit of almond milk! What’s more, granola can mean the difference between a quick bite (plain yogurt) or a snack that’ll leave you feeling full all morning (i.e. yogurt + granola)!

Now I know there are bags and bags or pre-made granola that you can buy at the grocery store. These may be easier to get because they require no baking at all, but what I love about making your own is that you can control the ingredients that go into the recipe and you can customize as you please. Craving cinnamon and raisins in your granola? Make it yourself and save a little money. Craving mint chocolate granola? You can totally make it on your own and make it a little healthier than the store bought brand.

Those cravings for the speciality flavors that you can’t really find in stores is exactly what inspired this recipe. I decided that this recipe would be a bit different than your basic chocolate granola. Something that was as much a dessert as it was a healthy, filling, and caffeine infused like a cup of coffee.

The result? Delicious, perfectly sweet, craving-satiating chocolate granola clusters infused with caffeine. I can’t wait for you to try this recipe! You’re going to love it, I promise.

The brand of chocolate I used for this recipe is called SURGE Chocolate and it’s my newest obsession. This smooth premium chocolate contains 27 mg of caffeine per piece and is loaded with B-Vitamins. SURGE contains 50% less sugar than national brands and uses natural flavors.

How to make granola clusters

Like I keep saying in this blog post, this recipe is so easy to make and I think that’s why I like it so much. There’s no fuss in the ingredients, the price, or the process. Here’s how we make it so easy:

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except the chocolate and mix super well.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350F.

Pour the granola mixture onto your lined baking sheet and press it down flat. Some may stick to your fingers, but keep pressing until the mixture is nice and firm in one big flat clump.

Bake your granola for about 20 minutes or until the edges and top start to become golden brown.

While the granola is baking, chop up your chocolate bar so it’s ready to go! Once the granola is ready, remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate right on top. Let it melt! You can always place the granola back in the oven for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate faster.

Once melted, use a spatula to spread the chocolate on top. Let the chocolate and granola cool COMPLETELY before breaking into clusters. This is super important. Enjoy!!

Chocolate Granola Clusters substitutes

Want to make this granola, but don’t have these exact ingredients? Here’s what you can sub instead:

Almond Butter

I used almond butter in this recipe, but you can also use cashew or peanut butter! If you want to use two types, split them in half to avoid ending up with a super gooey, buttery mess!

Maple Syrup

If you don’t have maple, try another liquid sweetener like honey or molasses. I have only tried this recipe with maple syrup, but honey would be the next best option if you ask me!

Caffeine Chocolate Bar

This chocolate was my favorite to use for this recipe. However, if you don’t have this specific chocolate on hand, use another chocolate bar or chocolate chips work too!
