Donuts are amazing, enough said! No for real, I love all the different flavors of donuts and how creative you can be with decorating. I had the most fun trying out a new flour in this recipe and then dipping each one in a thick layer of chocolate. I topped each one with a little bee pollen too. Honestly, because I thought it would look nice and I think it turned out great Hope you guys like this recipe as much as I do! They’re best fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in the fridge and heat one up when you’re ready to eat it, trust me.
Ingredients:
-
2 eggs
-
1 cup dairy free yogurt (I used Forager Project)
-
1/4 cup maple syrup
-
1 tsp vanilla
-
1/4 cup flax meal
-
1 and 3/4 cup Gluten Free 1 to 1 Baking Flour
-
1/4 cup applesauce
-
1 tsp baking soda
-
1 bar of chocolate (crushed for inside)
-
1 bar of chocolate to melt (or less if you want less chocolate)
Recipe:
-
Mix the dry ingredients first and then whisk in the wet. The order of ingredients does not matter, just make sure to break apart any clumps and make sure all the ingredients are mixed well
-
Break one chocolate bar (or you can sub chocolate chips) into the batter and mix it in well
-
Prepare the donut tray by spraying it with a little coconut oil or avocado oil. Pour the batter into each container filling each one almost all the way. The donuts rise, but not too much
-
Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees
-
Let them cool, remove, and dip each one in melted chocolate. I melted one whole Loving Earth bar, but you can also melt chocolate chips or any other kind of chocolate
