Tahini may be one of my ingredients. It’s such a versatile ingredient and I always try to find ways to add it to my recipes. This time, I wanted something sweet (who’s shocked?) I’ve been so inspired by other recipe developers recently creating copy-cat healthified treats which then inspired this recipe here! It was sort of inspired by a Twix bar with all the layers, but maybe it resembles something else? Not exactly sure, but I do know that it’s so great! I love the texture of all the layers combined and I really think that it makes for an awesome dessert. Hope you guys love it as much as I do!
Ingredients:
-
Bottom Layer:
-
1 cup almond flour
-
2 tbsp coconut flour
-
2 tbsp coconut sugar
-
2 tbsp honey
-
3 tbsp applesauce
-
-
Middle Layer:
-
½ cup cashew butter
-
1/3 cup tahini
-
4 tbsp maple syrup
-
-
Top:
-
1/3 cup melted chocolate
-
(optional) sprinkle of sea salt
-
Recipe:
-
Create the base layer first. Combine the dry and wet ingredients in a bowl first and mix well to make an edible cookie dough and press the dough into the bottom of a lined Tupperware container. Press the dough as flat as you can
-
Combine cashew butter, tahini, and maple syrup to create the middle layers of the bars. Hand mix until even and then pour the mixture on top of the cookie dough layer. Use the back of a spoon to spread this layer evenly
-
Melt the chocolate and pour it on top of the tahini layer. Spread this layer out evenly as well, sprinkle a little optional sea salt, and let the container chill in the freezer overnight
-
When the chocolate has solidified, cut them into bars, and enjoy!
