I have been trying to come up with fun and creative ways to use them in recipes, but everyone needs a banana bread recipe, am I right? Especially this one that is gluten and dairy free!

This banana bread is made with healthier ingredients like oat flour made from ground up gluten free oats and dairy free yogurt to replace the traditional ingredients like white flour and canola oil.
Ingredients in healthy oatmeal banana bread
This recipe is healthier than traditional banana bread because of the nutrient value in the ingredients.
gluten free oat flour – this recipe calls for oat flour over white flour for more nutrients.
yogurt– yogurt has been one of my favorite baking add ins recently. It’s much healthier than oils like canola, and adds a little extra natural sweetness if you use an unsweetened brand like Forager or Kite Hill.
ripe bananas – super ripe bananas are key for making this recipe perfectly sweet. With a touch of honey, we create the perfect balance of sweetness.
honey – a touch of honey help adds to the natural sweetness from the bananas, a little goes a long way here!
coconut sugar – coconut sugar retains quite a bit of the nutrients found in the coconut palm. These include minerals like iron, zinc, calcium and potassium.
eggs – haven’t tested this recipe with flax eggs, but if you try it out let me know! You can also sub 1/4 cup applesauce per egg in this recipe to make it vegan, but I haven’t tested the texture of this yet.

How to make healthy banana bread
This banana bread recipe is seriously easy to make. If you have ten minutes and one mixing bowl, you can create the most delicious healthy banana bread.
You’ll start by mashing the ripe bananas in your bowl.
One of the best tips I have for this recipe and for any banana bread recipe in general is to use a potato masher for when you want to mash your bananas up! It seriously makes them so mushy and perfect for banana bread, and is a lot easier to do than if you were doing it with a fork.
Add in the rest of the wet ingredients. These are the yogurt, honey, and eggs and mix super well.
Then, add together all of your dry ingredients (oat flour, baking powder, and coconut sugar.) Mix until well combined. Tip: if you don’t have oat flour, blend oats in a food processor until a flour is formed.
Here, you can mix some chocolate chips into your batter or you can even add in nuts or any other mix-in that you want!
Pour the batter into your lined loaf pan, top with a sprinkle of oats and more chocolate chips and bake at 350 F for about an hour or until nice and golden brown.
Cut into slices and enjoy!
