We are ringing in the new year with five brand new mug cake recipes on the blog. All of these recipes are gluten free and dairy free and beyond easy to make. You can find these recipes on @chens_plate on Insta or find them below on the recipe cards. Each recipe has a unique flavor that makes for the perfect sweet treat any time of the day. Strawberry Banana Mug Cake

Made with oat flour to create a fluffy, gluten free mug cake for all the gluten sensitive people like me!

All ingredients in this mug cake are dairy free! Just make sure you use a dairy free collagen 🙂

One egg is needed to make this fruity healthy mug cake, but a flax egg works great and makes this recipe fully vegan.

Strawberry Banana Mug Cake

To start us off, here’s a Strawberry Banana Mug Cake. I chose simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry so you can have this sweet treat ASAP. Let’s get cookin:
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Course Dessert, Snack
Servings 1 mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp oat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1 tsp applesauce
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3 chopped strawberries
  • 1/2 tbsp collagen

Instructions
 

  • Mash the banana and mix it together with the other the wet ingredients
  • Add in the dry ingredients and stir well, breaking apart any clumps formed in the batter
  • Chop up strawberries into small pieces and mix them evenly into the batter
  • Pour the batter into a microwave safe mug or small bowl and microwave for about 2 minutes
  • Cool, top, and enjoy ✨

Almond Butter Filled Chocolate Mug Cake

Almond Butter Filled Chocolate Mug Cake

One of my favorite mug cakes for New Year New Mug Cakes!! This recipe is gluten free and dairy free and so so easy to make. Let’s just get to the recipe, shall we ✌🏻
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Course Dessert, Snack
Servings 1 mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 tbsp collagen of choice
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/2 tbsp applesauce
  • 1/2 tbsp almond butter (for filling)

Instructions
 

  • Mix together the wet ingredients in a small bowl (leave out the almond butter for now)
  • Add in the dry ingredients and stir well
  • Pour half the batter into a microwave safe mug, add 1 tbsp almond butter into the middle, and then top with the other half of the batter (covering the AB)
  • Microwave for about 2 minutes
  •  Let cool, top with chocolate chips and a pinch of sea salt, and enjoy!

Cinnamon Banana Chip Mug Cake

Treat your roommate, your boyfriend, your mom, yourself to this amazing and easy to make mug cake! I’m obsessed with all things mug cakes (if you haven’t noticed lol) and I’m so excited to share yet another new recipe for New Year, New Mug Cakes ✌🏻
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Course Dessert, Snack
Servings 1 mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp oat flour
  • 1 tsp applesauce
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop collagen

Instructions
 

  • Mash the banana and mix it together with the other the wet ingredients
  • Add in the dry ingredients and stir well
  • Add in the chocolate chips and mix them evenly into the batter
  • Pour the batter into a microwave safe mug or small bowl
  • Microwave for about 1.5 minutes, let cool, top with extra chocolate chips, and enjoy

Blueberry Mug Cake

Can’t wait for y’all to try this easy and healthy mug cake ✨ ALSO, I’ve had some questions about subs for collagen! Just add the equivalent in flour 🙂 For example, this recipe calls for 1/2 tbsp collagen. Just sub 1/2 tbsp almond flour for the collagen.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes

Servings 1 mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 tbsp collagen
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 15 blueberries
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Mix the wet ingredients in a larger mug or small bowl
  • Add in the dry ingredients and stir well
  • Add in the blueberries and gently stir them in evenly
  • Microwave in a microwave safe mug for about 2 minutes, let cool, top with a drizzle of honey and extra blueberries, and enjoy!

Chocolate Banana Mug Cake

Ending my New Year, New Mug Cakes with this lil cake… I topped this no bake cake with almond butter, dairy free chocolate chips, and a sprinkle of sea salt! You can totally get crazy with your toppings and add coconut whipped cream or chopped berries for the perfect gluten free, dairy free, sweet treat. Here’s the recipe if you want the easiest dessert, breakfast, or snack 
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Course Breakfast, Dessert, Snack
Servings 1 mug cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp applesauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Start by mixing together all the ingredients except the chocolate chips in a small bowl or mug.
  • Then, mix the chocolate chips into your mug cake batter.
  • Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top and microwave for about 2.5 minutes.
  • Top with whipped cream, almond butter, and more chocolate and ENJOY ✌🏻
